Welcome to Ibis Kitchen

General Info

Tucked along R. Silva Jardim, 32 - Torre I in Rio de Janeiro, Ibis Kitchen feels like one of those easy, reliable spots you end up coming back to more than once. The location is convenient, especially if you’re moving around the city center, and the atmosphere is simple but welcoming-nothing over the top, just a comfortable place to enjoy a good meal.

What stood out to me right away was how approachable the menu is. It leans into familiar Brazilian flavors while still offering variety. The feijoada, for example, is a highlight. It’s hearty, rich, and exactly what you’d hope for when craving something traditional. At the same time, the buffet de saladas balances things out nicely, with fresh options that don’t feel like an afterthought. It’s the kind of spread where you can mix and match depending on your mood.

Breakfast here deserves a mention too. The buffet café da manhã is generous without being overwhelming. There’s a steady flow of choices, making it easy to start your day without overthinking it. Whether you’re heading out early or taking your time, the setup works for both quick bites and relaxed mornings.

Service-wise, I found things to be straightforward and practical. The availability of no-contact delivery and takeout makes it convenient if you prefer to enjoy your meal elsewhere. Dining in for dinner, though, has its own charm-especially when you want a proper sit-down experience. The staff keeps things efficient, and the option to pay with debit cards adds to the ease.

Accessibility is another plus. The wheelchair accessible entrance makes the restaurant more inclusive, which is always good to see. It’s clear that the space is designed to accommodate different types of guests without hassle.

Looking at reviews and overall impressions, the place seems to attract a mix of locals and travelers. That combination usually says a lot. It’s not trying to reinvent dining-it’s simply focused on delivering consistent food and service. And honestly, that reliability is part of its appeal.

If you’re exploring dining options in Rio and want something casual yet dependable, this restaurant fits right into that space. The combination of a varied menu, flexible services, and a convenient location makes it a solid choice whether you’re stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

What customers say?

“ The Ibis buffet isn't very large, but the food is wonderful and there's plenty of variety to choose from. The feijoada is spectacular. I personally have never eaten a feijoada as delicious as the one served there. The meats are all separate from the beans, so you can take what you want. Dessert is included in the buffet price. The price for women is lower than for men, which I found very fair. The price is super affordable and the atmosphere is very good. ”

“ Good restaurant, excellent breakfast, good options. That's all. The set meals are very expensive and the portions are quite small. Friendly and polite staff, very clean place. ”

- Leandro Silva -

“ The food is very basic, with few salad items, rice, beans, and pasta, always on the menu with some meat option. Juices are always included, as well as dessert, which is also very basic and with few options. Tip: arrive for lunch around 12:00 or 12:30, because it gets crowded after that time. A bit confusing and with a line to pay. ”

“ Great experience! Worth it! Excellent service from employee Wagner ”

- Israel Amaral -

“ Hi, the space is good, very secure, but the building is old and needs renovations to replace the flooring. It's really well located for those who want to take the subway and visit downtown Rio. For the price, I think you can find something better! ”

“ The room is a classic ibis budget. It's good for a few nights. The shower is fantastic. The breakfast is complete: it's worth including in the daily rate due to the hotel's location. As for the location, it's right in the center, so if your appointment is there, perfect. Furthermore, it's close to the Lapa arches and the Selaron steps. I received excellent service. ”

“ Self-service restaurant without a scale, with little variety of food, but tasty options and a fair price. The cuisine revolves around Brazilian food, with rice, beans, feijão tropeiro (a type of bean stew), stroganoff, macaroni with tomato sauce... The salad is good and quite diverse. Juices are included, which was a plus. I particularly recommend the guava juice, especially for foreigners. The desserts didn't stand out much, but the availability of included desserts is a highlight. ”

- João Pedro -

“ Whenever someone thinks about eating feijoada, they need to know this place exists! Air-conditioned environment, fixed price, and all-you-can-eat with dessert included. Drinks are separate. You can even sample the "feijão amigo" (a typical Brazilian dish) and caipirinha for free as soon as you arrive. More than a fair price. Food is always hot and well-seasoned. I recommend it! ”
